Hole #2 PAR 4 Yardage: Blue
437 - White 437 - Red 437 - Green 343 Handicap: Men 1 Women 7 Wind: From
Rear Green Hold: Excellent DRIVE - The fairway firms up just before
the pond and big bounces ending in splash are not uncommon. A driver may be to
much club. Drives hit to the center of the fairway leave an odd angle to the
green. Drives hit to the right corner of the pond leaves a straight in
approach. APPROACH - A long approach shot is inevitable but eased
somewhat by the prevailing tail wind. A long iron or fairway wood is needed for
the approach. The left front of the green is softer than the right and shots
landing left front tend to kick further left. Shots landing right front tend to
get big hops over the green. Dead center is the place to be. If you fly the
green a normally ugly come back pitch awaits. Short is better than long.
GREEN - The green slopes back to front and is much wider than deep. What
you see is what you get. There is no hidden surprise but watch the dip in the
right rear center of the putting surface and a swale to the left. |
