Hole #1 PAR 5 Yardage: Blue
554 - White 541 - Red 441 - Green 441 Handicap: Men 7 Women 9 Wind:
Left to right Green Hold: Excellent DRIVE - An accurate driver can
cut the first corner and gain considerable roll due to firmness up the right
side of the fairway. Beware of the prevailing wind which will accentuate a
slice deep into no mans land. The safe drive is toward the fourth mound after
the pond and allow the wind to bring the ball back to the fairway.
APPROACH - Line up the approach toward the left side of the green and the
wind will bring the ball in to the middle of the green. The front left of the
green is usually soft so do not expect a big bounce. There is plenty of bail
out room on the left but losing a shot right will mean big trouble and a big
number on the card. GREEN - The green slopes back to front, is high on
either side and will hold almost any approach shot. You can be aggressive and
go for the stick without much fear. A shot ending up in the center of the green
will leave a reasonable up hill putt to most pin positions. |
