The course is carved out of natural growth forest and around the site of a closed artillery coastal defense fortification. The two nines are substantially different. The first nine plays a 3228 yard par 37 that was built through forest. The front is tight and demands accuracy over distance in shot making. The second nine plays a 2634 yard par 34 and is more open with fewer trees and a few reminders of the areas old military days. The back, being more open, gives the player an opportunity to grip and rip without worrying about an occasional errant shot. With the ever present wind and three par 3’s on the back the difference between nines is night and day.
Players of all skill level can find a challenge to fit their game, playing from one of four sets of tees, smooth fairways, and putting out on greens that run true.
